When you talk about fine, custom, handmade instruments, it’s not hard to imagine what makes these instruments stand out. This 24-fret handmade 8-string multi-scale guitar was imagined from the thought process of “get the guitar out of the way, so I can play it”. The neck carve is a straight no taper C, which feels the same at the 1st fret as it does at the 15th fret. As the neck comes into the body, the heel has been carved away for unlimited access. The top is a stunning Spalted Flamed Maple. The body is Quilted Sapele. The bound, Flamed Maple fretboard on top of a 5A neck Flamed Maple neck adds attack and snap to the overall guitar. Top it off with a Ellis hand-wound custom pickup set and your imagination is the only thing that could hold you back.
The wood of the tree that this guitar was made from has a story to tell. The tree was dying due to another tree falling on it during a large storm. Half the tree was knocked down and the other half was trying to live on but failing. The tree was destined to be burned and the stump poisoned. Thanks to Unique woods of the Northwest, this tree was harvested and is now living on in the instruments being made from it. The genetics of the tree were cloned and is now being replanted in the forest it once inhabited.
